Junior Golf
Sunnybrook has always strived to have a fun and challenging junior golf program for all ages and abilities. Last year we had over 80 juniors in the program that ended with the Junior Club Championship and a pizza party. The programs are taught by the PGA staff of Sunnybrook along with some volunteers that have shown exceptional ability in golf and have a desire to help the juniors learn the game.
This year we are going to offer clinics based on ability level, parents select one of three ability options for their children to participate in: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each program meets for one hour on Tuesday mornings or early afternoon starting in mid-June to early August. The intermediate and advanced groups will play golf after their clinics most weeks. The beginner group will start with clinics the first few weeks, and then will play 3 holes after the juniors have shown that they have the ability to go on the course. Each group will be taught depending on their skill levels, but all children in each group will have an "education session" where course care, etiquette and safety are taught to them. The year will again climax with the Junior Club Championship and Pizza party on August 4th.
Sunnybrook has just entered in to hosting the Hudsonville High School teams and looks forward to continuing this relationship and utilizing some of the better high school golfers to help our junior golf program. Please contact the Pro Shop staff with any questions you might have about the programs and which group your child will be best suited for.
