Evan DeGelder, PGA
Head Golf Professional
Evan DeGelder brings a wealth of experience to his role as Head Golf Professional at Sunnybrook Country Club. Having worked at prominent clubs such as Petoskey-Bay View Country Club, Muskegon Country Club, and the renowned Tobacco Road Golf Club in North Carolina, Evan has gained expertise in both private and resort-style golf operations. A Rockford native, Evan has returned to West Michigan to settle close to family with his wife and two young children. His diverse background and passion for the game make him an invaluable leader at Sunnybrook.
Justin Szczepkowski
Golf Professional
Justin joined the Sunnybrook team after honing his craft just south of Chicago, where he worked alongside professionals from prestigious clubs like Harborside International and Olympia Fields Country Club. His time at Idlewild Country Club in Flossmoor, IL, provided him with valuable insights into creating exceptional golf experiences. Justin’s well-rounded background and enthusiasm for the sport drive his commitment to delivering outstanding service both on and off the course.
Spencer Havens
Golf Professional
Spencer Havens has been a dedicated member of the Sunnybrook team for eight years, starting on the bag staff before stepping into his first season as an Assistant Golf Professional in 2024. With a focus on improving operations and pursuing his PGA membership, Spencer is passionate about growing his expertise in the industry. Outside of work, Spencer enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and pursuing hobbies with family and friends. He is excited to see what 2025 brings for both his career and Sunnybrook Country Club.
Tyler Wong
Teaching Professional
Tyler Wong is a PGA member and TPI-certified instructor who combines modern teaching techniques with an in-depth understanding of biomechanics to enhance his students' performance. A certified Operation 36 instructor, Tyler helps golfers improve through progressive, game-based learning. By tailoring personalized coaching plans to each student’s skill level and goals, Tyler has earned a reputation as a trusted coach for players ranging from beginners to advanced competitors. His passion for the game and commitment to professional growth make him a standout instructor in the region.
